New Whitney Houston Live Album: Whitney Houston’s estate will release a new live album commemorating her first concerts in South Africa. Titled The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban), the album honors her 1994 visit, which celebrated the end of apartheid and Nelson Mandela’s election. The album drops on November 8, exactly 30 years after Houston performed at Kings Park Stadium in Durban. Her setlist included fan-favorites like “I Will Always Love You,” “Saving All My Love for You,” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” During the tour, she also performed in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The album will release in multiple formats: digital, CD, and vinyl, with slight variations in tracklists. The digital and CD editions will also feature an exclusive, previously unreleased studio track titled “Love Is.”
Celebrating Houston’s Voice
Pat Houston, the executor of Whitney’s estate, shared her amazement at the remastered recordings. “The sound quality and purity of her voice blew me away,” she said. She believes the album will remind fans and new listeners of Houston’s incredible talent. Pat also mentioned that fans have been eagerly waiting for this project for over a decade and will finally get to enjoy live versions of the singer’s beloved classics.
A Timeless Legacy
Clive Davis, the music executive who signed Houston to Arista Records, expressed his excitement about the release. He encouraged fans to watch the concert film and own the album, calling Houston the greatest female voice of all time. “There will never be another Whitney Houston,” Davis said, reflecting on her unmatched impact on the music world.
