Eminem has released a heartfelt new music video for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey where Eminem Becomes a Grandpa. The video is filled with nostalgic home movies, as well as some recent clips, including a special moment where the rapper finds out he’s going to be a grandfather. The song is a tribute to his daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, and captures the deep bond between father and daughter.

The video for “Temporary” features old footage of Eminem and Hailie from the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was a period when Eminem was rising to stardom. Along with these memories, the video includes recent clips, such as scenes from Hailie’s wedding. One of the most touching moments is when Hailie surprises her father with a Detroit Lions jersey that says “Grandpa” on the back, marking the moment Eminem learns he’ll soon be a grandfather.

‘Temporary’ on Eminem’s Latest Album

“Temporary” is part of Eminem’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which was released in July. Last month, he expanded the album by adding new tracks. The album included a remix of “Fuel” and a song titled “Kyrie and Luka” featuring 2 Chainz. The album marks a significant chapter in Eminem’s career as he explores new themes while letting go of his famous alter ego, Slim Shady.

The End of Slim Shady

Earlier this year, Eminem began rolling out The Death of Slim Shady by launching a creative campaign centered around the “death” of his Slim Shady persona. He even published a mock obituary for Slim Shady in the Detroit Free Press and symbolically “killed” the character in his music video for “Tobey”. The video featured fellow Detroit rappers Big Sean and BabyTron. Along with “Temporary,” Eminem has also released videos for his singles “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me”. He performed those at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
